{"id":168,"date":"2022-06-06T19:52:00","date_gmt":"2022-06-06T19:52:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/grippedbytravel.co.uk\/?p=168"},"modified":"2022-06-02T20:00:47","modified_gmt":"2022-06-02T20:00:47","slug":"antalya-turkey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/grippedbytravel.co.uk\/index.php\/2022\/06\/06\/antalya-turkey\/","title":{"rendered":"Antalya, Turkey"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>So today we are off to one of Turkey\u2019s main tourist destinations the Antalya region.&nbsp; The area is famous historically as the centre of the Lycian Empire and was the last region on the Mediterranean Sea to become part of the Roman Empire.&nbsp; You cannot go far without coming across reminders of its past.&nbsp; If visiting the area you must take some time out to see Hadrian\u2019s Gate located in Antalya city centre and the rock tombs in Myra.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img src=\"https:\/\/travellogs.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/lycia-218651_1920-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-646\"\/><figcaption>Rock Tombs<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The main resort of Antalya offers a wide range of hotel accommodation from luxury hotels to small boutique hotels and there are a range of beaches to suit everyone\u2019s\u2019 needs whether its small and quite or big and noisy.  The best months to visit weather wise are May to October.  Daytime highs during these months are 26\u00b0C and above, with only a slight chance of rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img src=\"https:\/\/travellogs.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/beach-4185408_1920-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-649\"\/><figcaption>Beaches &#8211; Antalya<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c7\u0131ral\u0131, one of Antalya\u2019s most beautiful quieter beaches. Here you will find the ancient Lycian city of Olympos. You can walk among the ruins after a day of lying on the beach.
